Health Now = Wealth for the Long Haul

Are you investing in your health now so that you’ll be around to enjoy your wealth later?

In you’re in a difficult or challenging time, you may feel like you’re under enormous pressure to succeed, to work harder than ever before. On the other hand, if this is a time of great opportunity, you may be so excited about work that you neglect other important areas of your life.

Wealth-building is important, but it goes hand-in-hand with good health. Make sure you cover the basics to keep your body in great shape:

• Get your heart rate up through cardiovascular exercise for 20 to 60 minutes at least three times a week.

• Sleep as close to eight hours a night as you can, in a dark room, with TVs and iPods off. Stay away from caffeine or alcohol within four hours of sleeping for the best night’s rest.

• Make sure you get enough oxygen. Place your hand on your stomach and blow all your air out. Now take a deep breath. If your shoulders went up and your stomach remained pretty flat, your breathing is too shallow. Several times a day, practice taking some deep breaths that expand your abdomen. You’ll be amazed at how much better you feel.

• Eat as many vegetables and lean meats as you can, and enjoy some fruit. Stay away from processed foods, white flour and sugar.

• Finally, spend time daily on your relationships. Make sure that your family, your closest friends, and your spiritual life don’t get pushed aside so you can work, work, work.

Remember, only with good health comes the strength to pursue true Wealth.
